EqualReach · Equalikes

Connection for the people who can’t always step into the room.

EqualReach brings the outside world closer to people who are often left out of everyday connection — through trusted chaplains, volunteers and community workers who act as safe mediators. Built with dignity, privacy and emotional safety at the centre, EqualReach makes sure no one is forgotten, no matter their circumstance.

Why EqualReach exists

Because connection shouldn’t stop at the ward door or prison gate.

Life doesn’t pause when someone is in a hospital bed, a care home, or behind a prison wall. Families still love. Communities still care. But connection becomes hard — or sometimes impossible.

EqualReach was created to bridge that gap with compassion, clarity and structure. This is not social media. This is human connection — safely delivered.

How EqualReach works

  • Requests come from the ground. Needs and updates are submitted by trained chaplains, volunteers or community workers who know the person and their context.
  • Stories are shared with care. Requests appear on Equalikes as gentle prompts for encouragement, prayer and practical support — never as sensational content or entertainment.
  • No direct messaging — ever. All contact is mediated through approved workers, protecting vulnerable people from spam, harassment, emotional overload and unwanted interaction.
  • Safety and dignity built in. Messages are reviewed and delivered through controlled environments such as hospital wards, group rooms, chaplaincy visits or supervised sessions in prisons and care homes.

What guides EqualReach

EqualReach is designed with emotional, spiritual and psychological safety in mind. Every feature is built around one question: “Does this honour the person at the centre of the story?”

Core principles

  • Dignity at the centre. Language, images and interactions are guided so the person is honoured — not turned into a “case” or content.
  • Connection in impossible moments. Families who cannot communicate directly — such as those with loved ones in prison — can share short pre-recorded messages through authorised chaplains. Messages are reviewed, approved and delivered safely during visits or group sessions.
  • Simple for staff. EqualReach is designed to slot into existing pastoral and chaplaincy routines without adding unrealistic workload.
  • No one left out. EqualReach is built for people who might never download a new app, but still deserve to feel seen and remembered.
Example requests (demo only)

Care Home · Volunteer Sarah J.

“Mr Thompson lights up when he hears poetry. Could the community send three short recorded readings of their favourite uplifting poems for his Sunday visit?”

Hospital · Chaplain Mark H.

“A young mum is starting chemo tomorrow. We’re gathering encouraging messages that staff can read to her on difficult days.”

Prison · Community Worker Lisa K.

“We have a small group reflecting on forgiveness this week. If anyone would like to send a one-minute voice note or prayer, we’ll share it during the session.”

Why EqualReach matters

Because connection is part of healing. Because dignity is a right. Because no one should feel forgotten. Because community is stronger when every voice has a way to reach the ones who need it most.

EqualReach is how we carry each other — gently, safely, humanly.
